LSD: Learning something different

When not working, I’ve been focused on learning something new or expanding on what I know. I’ve been looking at a songwriting course online for sometime now and decided to finally get into it and finish it. Mind you, I’ve started this class a few times over the years but couldn’t make the time to complete it.

I’m in week 4 of this 5 week session and it’s really opening my eyes. Especially as a songwriting instructor. There are really endless ways to approach songwriting and while my way is very different from this class’s, the perspective it playing off.

Last week we had to write stable and unstable lyrics. Stable meaning lines that are even in count and often rhyme and unstable meaning lines that are odd in count but still typically rhyme. The song had to also make sense. It was fun and my lyrics reflected my current state of exhuastion.

Title: SO Tired

Verse

Dancing late at night
To my own delirium
Tomorrow’s work is light
So I’m owning my freedom
Bright screens excite
And
And
And

Chorus
I
’m so tired
I made a bad decision now
I’m so tired
Watched too much television now
I’m so tired
I’d do it all again
I’m so tired
My phones my best friend
